In today’s society, everybody wants the happy fairy tale marriage but nobody wants to do the work. Being married and having a great spouse is a beautiful thing but it is more about the marriage instead of the wedding. I want to share with you three simple principle that you can begin to implement within your own marriage to have a better and more prosperous marriage with your spouse.

See people don’t tell you that ugly stuff that goes on in the marriage. People try to sugarcoat and put up these mask about the glamorous in the glitz of marriage. But marriage is hard work; you have to work at this thing like a daily 9-to-5 job. I always say if you want to be selfish remain single because marriage is not for the weak it hard.

3 simple tips to have a healthy marriage

1. Communicate with each other: communication is such a huge part in being in a relationship because without it the relationship can begin to deteriorate. Each day is a new day and it brings about its own challenges but when you take the time out to listen to each other it helps lighten the load.

2. Be honest: Its nothing like being able to open your heart and have that next person to really be open and honest to sharing how they are feeling and just sharing how that every day life is going. It takes nothing to build trust but it can only take one little mistake to break trust; and when the trust is broken it can take years, sometimes you’ll never be able to get back that trust that you once had but if you are willing it can be done, but again hear me when I say it is a lot of work. So practice on a daily basis just being honest.

3. Pray together: your marriage is as strong as your prayer life. On a daily basis you guys should commit to a specific time to pray not only together but pray for each other out loud.
