Working at home can be a blast! More freedom, more time with your kiddos and all sorts of entertaining. But if you don’t avoid these scams, it can be a night mare!

5 Ways To Avoid WAHJob Scams

  • Asking for your personal information: If any company is asking you for money and your personal banking information. That right there is a red flag. I can’t tell you how many times I fell for this one trick. Some of these people can sound so convincing.
  • Verify the company. One great place I always check is the Better Business Bureau (BBB+). Google them to find out about previous customers and their experiences.
  • Sending you interview via chats: I mean that one right there, really. You can’t schedule a phone interview? Please be aware of this
  • Check their website: If there is no obvious sign of any kind of website or social media profile, I wouldn’t even bother.
  • No contact information: You can’t find a phone number or email (legitimate), there there is another red flag.

Achieve Your Goals With Motivational Soundtracks

Much like any great movie, music plays a vital role in your pursuit of success. When you set a goal for yourself, music can help you achieve it. Whether you listen while you work out or just work, certain songs can get you pumped up and ready for whatever challenge you may face.

nicki manaj Achiving Your Goals With A Motivational Sound trackOf course, musical tastes vary and your own individual playlist will be different from someone else’s, but there are a few styles of music that are staples in the motivational music scene.

80’s Montage Music: These songs are prime choices when creating a motivational soundtrack. The prime  example of this is the soundtrack to the Rocky series. That main theme has been used in many a montage and it’s still applicable in many real world situations. That’s just the beginning. You also have songs like Europe’s The Final Countdown as well as Joe Esposito’s You’re the Best Around as options. The latter is most famous for its use at the end of The Karate Kid, where it plays while Daniel makes his way to the finals.

When it comes to motivation, few songs are better suited than You’re the Best Around. This song will give you the energy and confidence you need for success. It’s so affirming that a confidence boost comes even as you read the title! Another great one is Roar by Katy Perry and really one of my all time favorites. One that I love to work out to is “I gotta feeling” by Black Eyed Peas and “Annaconda” by Nicki Manaj. Love it love it, love it.

Movie Soundtracks

This overlaps with the aforementioned genre, but there are quite a few movie scores that can have a positive effect on you.

You can’t go wrong with John Williams’ now classic Superman theme. Much like the hero himself, this tune gives you the positive energy you need to focus on your goals. It helps you believe that you’re capable of great things, and that’s the exact sentiment you want to feel in the music for your soundtrack.

Oldies and Classic Rock: Try adding a few tracks from the golden days to your playlist. Whether you’re a Beatles or Elvis fan, oldies have a positive energy to them. You’ll just feel good listening to them! It’s the same with classic rock. After listening to a song like Rush’s The Spirit of Radio, you just may feel better and energized. You can then transfer that positive energy and emotion into whatever your endeavor may be.

Epic Music: These are the type of songs you find in movie trailers. Songs like Nightwish’s Ghost Love Score or E.S. Posthumus’ Pompeii make great background music while also filling you with a sense of excitement and anticipation. Just hearing the song can be an awe-inspiring experience and that’s great when you want to elicit the same reaction from others.

Music is a major part of anyone’s life. It has an impact on us that’s hard to define, but impossible to ignore. While it’s not the only factor in improving your life, whether it’s getting in shape, impressing the boss with hard work, or boosting your own self-confidence, it’s a definite asset to your efforts.Try listening to these songs and others to create a motivational playlist that can spur you on to success!

Selling Through Your Online Store

It is easy to open an online store just sell through the more trusted websites. Online shopping is becoming a mainstay of American commerce and more people are comfortable with making purchases from Internet stores. If you have something that you are passionate about selling, consider opening an online store. I will share with you a few tips on getting started.

1) Do some research online and check out your potential competition. If you have a business idea in mind, it is worth the time and effort to see what else is being sold in your category of products. If you have no idea what you want to sell, you’ll also want to head online to search out what would be most profitable to sell.

2) Choose your niche: When you make the selection of what you are going to sell, remember to think “niche.” A niche is a small category of products that meet the needs of a specific group of people. Your online store shouldn’t have a “Wal-mart” approach where there is a little bit of everything for everyone. Online commerce is all about small categories of interest. There are so many things to choose from, you have more success when you cater to a small and specific group of people.

  • The best place to start with finding a niche is thinking about your own interests. When you sell to a niche that you know well, you are more likely to know what products will be of interest to those people. You can sell to your clientele based on your own experience.

  • Many Wahms start an online store because they have homemade products to offer. One example is handmade baby clothes and cloth diapers. Many Wahms have found success with putting their sewing skills to work and selling their wares online. Other popular handmade online stores include bath and body products, candles and gift baskets.
  • This does not mean that you can’t have online store success if you don’t make your own products. There are hundreds (if not thousands) of Wahms who have success by opening stores stocked with store-bought inventory.

3) What products are in demand: Whatever your choice, whether handmade or store bought, there are many options for hosting your online store. These options depend on how comfortable you are with web design. Many companies, like Yahoo, offer store websites that are very user-friendly and simple to set up. They can cost anywhere from $30 to $200 per month for the storefront services. Many Wahms also find success with eBay stores, which allow them to sell in auctions or in a fixed price format.

4) Look at all of your options before you choose your online store hosting. Remember that the quality of your hosting will reflect the quality of your business. The last thing you need is your entire website going down due to cheap hosting. The best choice is to find a reputable host that will provide you with a storefront and host for a reasonable price. Don’t try to pinch pennies on this aspect of your business. You could end up out of business in no time.

  • Once you’ve found a place to host your store, you’ll need to drive internet traffic to the store. One of the easiest ways is to trade banners with other Wahm online stores. Many Wahms support each other in their online efforts. This form of networking is a great way to introduce your products to customers who already look to support Wahms. You can also advertise using pay per click advertising and work on your website so that it increases in page ranking for certain search terms.
  • Keep your customers coming back with an easy to navigate website, simple ordering techniques and good customer service. Even though most of your business will be done online, it’s a good idea to get a business phone line and put that number on your website. This way customers can feel confident in purchasing from you because they know they can speak to a real person if there is a problem with their order.

If you follow these tips you will be successful selling online no matter what type of online store that you open. I hope these tips help you make a better decision when choosing to sell online.  Please share this with your friends and family! If you need more ways to make money from home, visit our store!

5 Reasons You Are Give Your Products Away For Free

I see this all the time, moms start their business and they price their products and services so low that they are practically giving it away. They are home with their children but they also want to make money as well. Oh here is another one, you are a church gal and you feel guilty about charging for your consultations and services. I have seen everything under the sun and it makes me sick to my stomach. I know at the beginning days of my business, I was giving away tons of free stuff including a three-tier diaper cake (and you know a box of diapers is around twenty-five dollars)

You teach your audience what to expect from you. And I certainly trained my audience to always want free stuff. Now, don’t get me wrong, you have to give away some things, but giving away the whole cow is unacceptable when you are trying to make extra money. So, I want to share with you five reasons why you keep giving away your products and services for free:

  • You are afraid of rejection.. yep you fear that people will tell you no. You are afraid that they will not be interest in what you have to say
  • You are not pricing your products correctly: You just put a price on it whether it is what you are worth or not, you just want a quick sale
  • You worry too much about what other people will think of you: yep this one right here is keeping a lot of you broke and living in a fantasy world of an expensive hobby
  • You think that you will lose your audience if you start charging for your services. Newsflash, people that need what you have to say, will gladly pay you for it. When people see that you are the solution to their problem, they will gladly take out their wallets.
  • Lastly, you think if you don’t give away your stuff, people won’t know, like or trust you. Wrong, it’s okay to give away a few things as long as it is of value; but giving it all away is ridiculous.

I hope this was an eye opener for some of you that it’s time to start charging what you are worth. If you are ready to start pricing your products and services correctly and break up with the FREEBIE party, then I invite you to sign up for my upcoming teleseminar: How To Charge What You Are Worth.  Get more details now!

5 Advantages Of Working From Home

Have you ever thought about quitting your regular job and starting working from home instead? You’re not alone! Countless people make the switch every year, and it doesn’t look like this trend is stopping anytime soon. As technology gets better, more and more jobs can be done just as well without leaving the house. It’s no wonder most people are interested in it either, as there are many advantages to working from home:

5 Advantages Of Working From Home

1. You set your own hours

You’ll no longer be limited to working when someone else tells you to. Nothing is stopping you from pulling a 16-hour day on Monday and taking Tuesday off, or taking a few hours off in the middle of the day to go grocery shopping. If you’re the type of person who works best in the evening/night, you’ll no longer have to drag yourself up at 7 AM just because someone else tells you to.

2. You can work from anywhere

It’s usually referred to as “working from home”, but a better term might actually be “working from anywhere”. You can work just as well in a hotel room in Thailand, or from your favorite café, there’s no need to limit yourself to your home office.

3. You’ll save time and money

Working from home completely does away with the daily commute, meaning you’ll save both time and gas money. For some people who are used to commuting for 2-3 hours per day, this is huge. Use the money you save to improve your home office instead, or take an extra vacation every year!

4. You’ll be able to work un-interrupted

When you work in a regular office you’ll often have people interrupting you as soon as you get into “the zone”. It can be very frustrating, especially if you’re in a rush to complete an assignment. This is another huge advantage of working from home; unless you have household members who like to bother you (tell them not to!), you’ll be able to enjoy completely focused work with no interruptions.

5. You can invest in your health

Working in an office it may be difficult to find the time to eat healthy and visit the gym. When you’re working from home it’s generally easier, as you’re free to cook whatever you want for lunch/dinner. You can also take a couple of hours off in the afternoon a couple of days per week to hit the gym outside peak hours, avoiding the crowds of office workers who come in after work.

I hope these few tips will help you with deciding to work from home and have the flexibility to be home with your kids. If you want more ways on how to properly work from home and have harmony within your home, grab my Juggling Work & Family System Now.

The Craziest Thing I Did In Business

In business, I have done my share of crazy things but this one is by far the craziest and scariest thing I’ve done. I wanted to attend a business conference so bad, that I had to scrape up every penny that I had. Here is the breakdown, I had maybe thirty dollars to my name and I had to catch a flight, which I bought the tickets as a special so I wouldn’t know what time my flight leaves until I paid for it.  Well, My mama bought my plane ticket for exactly $333.00 and when I tell you I was the happiest gal on the block. If you lived close to me, you probably would have heard me a mile away screaming and doing my happy dance.

Here’s where it gets crazy! I almost missed my flight because of construction. We left three hours ahead of time but was stuck in delayed traffic for two of those hours. I barely had enough time to do anything by the time I made it to the airport, my flight was boarding. I remember like it was yesterday; I was running in heels with the security guard, now imagine this, I’m out of breath, trying to be cute because the security guy was cute; but boy, I was out of breath. When I did get to my seat on the plane, I had to use the bathroom, so I went to the bathroom and wouldn’t you know it, I got stuck in the bathroom, so I’m screaming at the top of my lungs, cause me and small spaces don’t do well together.  Then the bad part is I ended up staying at the airport bathroom because no one was available so they say to pick me up. It was midnight when I arrived at this city where I knew nobody. Yes, I was a scared somebody.

Here’s what I learned about myself:

  • I was determined to get to an event that would change my life. I was uncomfortable and scared. I had thirty dollars to my name and that’s it.
  • Even, though it wasn’t the most exciting and pleasant experience, I’m glad I went because I would never have met one of my favorite mentors: Les Brown
  • I took my doubts and fears and kicked them out the window and went anyway.
  • Finally, I took a chance on me

What’s keeping you from doing something that you know you need to do to help you grow as a person and as a business owner? You will never know what you are made of until you push yourself outside of your comfort zone. I want to invite you to take a chance on you this week and invest in your dreams. You have 5 hours left to take advantage of The START NOW and PROFIT for Life

3 Things I Wish I Had Known Before Starting My Business

mompreneurs, work at home moms, stay at home moms

3 things I wish I had known before starting my business

Hello mommies! I knew that there was more to me than being a wife, mom, sister friend, etc.  Even before the marriage, the kiddos, college or what have you. I have always known that I was destined to do great things. As a child, I loved baking with my mom and grand mother and quilting and doing crafts! I was that gal that whenever one of my friends, or guy I was dating, had a birthday, I tend to always most definitely baked and decorated them a beautiful cake.  Also, while in high school and college, I was paid $25/report or anything to type it up and graph it so that they wouldn’t have to do it.  I recall one semester, I made over $200 in cash. You talking about happy; as a college student, having that much money at one time was a God sent.

Even, after having my first child, I was in my last semester of graduate school, I always wanted to make money doing something I love. At that time, I just didn’t know how I would go about doing that. As time went by, I began to take my love for crafts and see how I could make money from home. Well, I want to share with you three things I wish I had known before starting my business:

If you are a mom who is ready to start her business, I invite you to check out my Business Startup 101 Course!

  • Free Stuff won’t take you far: At the beginning, my mindset was why would I pay a coach money when I wasn’t even making money. I would google everything or search youtube to find out everything I wanted to know about business.
  • Build relationships first & foremost: I was the selling queen. With my beautiful diaper cakes, I just knew everybody loved my cakes just as much as I did. I thought hey, why do I have to get to know people or them get to know me to buy my cakes. I was more interested in making money.
  • Hire a Coach: I also was highly against giving coaches my hard earned money when I was already struggling in my business. I was on a tight budget because we were in a one-income household so money was super tight.  My mentality was very poorly; Thank God for change.

I hope that you have enjoyed these few tips and I would love it if you would share this with your other mommy friends. If you are struggling with getting your business up and running, grab my Business Startup 101 Course!
